Hey all:

I know this is short notice, but the girls have been on my case because I've done all the other cookfests on weekends when they weren't around. And they want in!

What do folks say to something kind of low-key (to compensate for the wild excesses of our Avant Garde event) this Sunday? A simple theme--Printemps (that's Spring for the linguistically challenged)--maybe just centering around leg of lamb with obligatory accoutrements, pres and posts.

It's quite likely, by the way, that my new dining room table will be here by then. (Seats 14!) The Roadway site says it's here in Seattle, I'm just waiting for it to move the final mile...

Starting earlyish, I think, maybe even fourish? Any takers out there?

Count us in. I will think of somthing appropriate for primavera...

;) Thanks so much, Steve! We're feeling like orphans that Sunday as others in the family made plans that didn't include us, so we'd love to attend! I'm thinking that an herbed goat cheese potatoes au gratin might go well with lamb, but may change my mind if others are going more gourmet! :P

Cheers,
Carolyn

Count us in! What a lovely theme - we'll think of something springy and get back to you.

We're in! We never do anything on Easter since we got our chicks out of the nest, so this will make a delightful change.

Let me think about what to bring for a few minutes.

Oooh, I'm there too and was also feeling like an orphan when I realized that this Sunday was a holiday.

Dish...TBD....

Yikes! That was fast. With me and the girls and my friend Mandy, we're at 13 already. Don't stop expressing interest, folks, never know how things will happen, but we're getting full already!

Richard and I would love to join you with Roasted Asparagus with Garlic and Sieved Egg Yolk. Definitely a pre or an avec. Reserving a dessert option, as well, if berries are irresistable.

I'm really in the mood to make an extravagant dessert, so if Fred's not coming, I claim dessert.

Plus I have some pancetta curing that will be ready by then, so I'll make some little pre-dinner nibble with some of that, if it's respectable.

All sounding great so far. Sure thing--I'll do the lamb.

Though the girls will probably want to do some other thing that's more involved, as well.

Gary and I would love to join in. I'm thinking of a soup....are peas in the market yet? Is there room for all of us?

PS: GourmetLight$, I can't imagine an "herbed goat cheese potatoes au gratin" not being "gourmet" enough. Sounds wonderful!

I'm thinking something in the appetizers arena...unless Abra decides not to do a dessert...or if you all think we need two desserts.

Steve, you and the girls can do a 7 hour garlic lamb, if they want to fuss. Or a stuffed and rolled boneless leg.

I'm going to do some sort of medley of/riff on traditional Easter desserts from around the world.
