Haven't been to Virgil's in years, but I think Collins Bar may be able to beat them for best beer selection in the area. Some good American craft beers on tap and a pretty wide selection of international bottled beers. Free popcorn too.

Yakitori Totto should presumably be included, as so many members like it. Michael Ruhlman writes a glowing review of his recent meal there. "Best Chicken. Ever." Thomas Keller sent him there. -------------------- "Nana, I just counted to infinity really fast!" Logan, age 5-1/2

I think I don't got no palette [sic], because I just thought it was a lot of grilled chicken. Perfectly fine, and with some interesting cuts, but just grilled chicken - and a bit repetitive as a dinner.

It's way more interesting if you have other grilled items (I'm fond of the grilled tofu) and some of the larger plates from the kitchen. -------------------- |

I finally got around to the Kati Roll Company on 46th ('twixt 6 and 7), which I had on my list as a flushboing recommendation for ages.
Go off-peak. The estimated fifteen minute wait went past twenty minutes, which is a long time to be standing in a crowded fast food joint. But good food, good value, freshly prepared - hence the wait. The flatbreads are cooked on a flat pan of great diameter, then stuffed with chicken, lamb, vegetables, etc. You can dial up the spicing if you wish. Two rolls will set you back around $7-$9. I ate a pair of shami kebab rolls, which were well-filled and very filling. A little greasy, if I had to complain. -------------------- Elect-a-lujah

Daisy, I couldn't stop drooling when I saw that photo yesterday. I knew the ramps would get your attention. |

He's supposedly opening in Chelsea soon. A block away from my apartment.
