How about "taupe?"

Pantyhose with sandals... an Eastern European fashion staple. Apparently common in San Francisco, too.

One legged panty hose?

Punk rock, baby.

How do you know it's not one knee high and one naked?

Why does it matter? It's still the same ugly visible thing.

I think "awful" is a bit strong - it's all down to personal preference/choice.

I'm sure that we all wear stuff that others don't like - I wouldn't rip them to pieces on a web board though. sad.gif

The first time I wore hose, it was with a girdle that had garters. Yikes. I think I was about 13 or so.

Tights, yes, I still wear them, in the winter under my riding breeches (no VPL!) and with dresses when I do wear them, but overall I think wearing dresses in the wintertime is an abomination. Haven't worn nudie hose in eons.

Love the thigh highs. They stay on me fine, and I think they are sexy.

Wanna hear odd?? I knew a woman who would wear nudie hose under her shorts, even in the middle of summer. With white socks and tennis shoes.

I'm looking forward to regretting this.

There's one episode of Strangers With Candy where Jeri looks at a girl walking by and says in that awful voice, "Nice camel toe, Susie!"

I just can't shake it.

OK, chances are this has been around, and some may not find it funny, but here goes...

Hairy legs look really cool with panty hose, the way the hair is flattened into all kinds of shapes and stuff.

I saw this under white stockings the other day.

I'm looking for a NYC store that carries patterned tights. I have a vague memory of Daisy telling me about a store that carries fishnet tights...?

Century 21 (hit or miss)
Barneys
Macys
Bloomingdale's

My favorite though is Wolford--pricey but they wear beautifully, and I like their fishnets the best--they come in a small pattern, and in a more dressy, barer, larger fishnet. There's a Wolford store in Soho--I think its on Prince and Green. Also, la Petite Coquette, on University between Ninth and Tenth carries Wolford tights. Not to mention wonderful lingerie.

How could I forget Fogal?

There is a shop on Madison and 53rd and I am pretty sure Barneys carries them as well. Even more expensive than Wolford, though.

Fishnets are SOOO uncomfortable if you don't wear another regular sheer pair underneath. And even then they are like having fishline cut into the soles of your feet. Don't understand their allure at all. A return to fun patterned hose or tights would be nice.

I don't even feel them. The tights are quite stretchy, have a seam at the toe part of the foot. I put the tights on, I line the seam up with my toes, and I forget about them. I would think that wearing another sheer pair underneath would look really weird.
