Undeniably true, but the reality is that they become tarnished by the shit-heads. How is anyone to tell the truth from the lies ? How can a journalist of integrity work alongside the others and retain that integrity ?

As you said, it used to be that we could judge the content by the name of the newspaper, but it simply isn't so any more. The Guardian is as bad, in this respect, as the News of the World. The Telegraph is dubious at best. The Independent has become totally subsumed (as The Observer once was) by its strident insistence on publishing material only according to its own agenda.

I suppose the answer for the consumer is to stop worrying about "the news" laugh.gif

And The Independent which was particularly high-minded in its early years. Uniquely in the UK, the travel writers couldn't accept complimentary trips, for example.
