When your neighbor sends you harassing texts and calls about how you are responsible for the leaks in their building... And then your friend, the tenant in that building sends you a photo from inside his walls showing how ivy has penetrated the building in several spots....   And then you have that fishing conversation with your neighbor hoping they will do the right thing and admit the actual problem before you send them the final, please stop talking to me, your a full of shit, photo....     Right there, thats the laugh...

We try to maintain a semi-feral cat in the country for rodent control and general amusement.    Usually there is just one at at time who claims us and comes on a regular basis, agreeing to some degree of cordiality.    We are very well trained and put out food immediately when they arrive, rather than keeping food out.   But we do put out a plate just before we leave if our current buddy hasn't arrived yet.

But lurking in the field and in the underbrush are a half dozen neighborhood cats, waiting for handouts, some making daily forays across the deck in hopes of getting lucky.   We're realizing we are a three star cat-Michelin dining room.

Apropos of nothing, I just got the urge to mention that, when the occasional sincere caring waitstaff asks us if there are any allergies that the kitchen should be aware of, I usually respond “cats”. Responses are varied but sometimes provide entertainment.

Apropos of nothing #2, I recently read an article about cats that proposed that they are in fact wild animals, having been domesticated hundreds of thousands of years after dogs.  They respond accordingly.    i.e., a cat will usually survey a room and choose the person who either hates cats or is allergic to them because that person will avoid them and give then space.    This opposed to the cat lover who makes eye-contact, reaches out and/or actually touches him.   Cats like to make their own decisions re with whom they wish to interact.

Damn, was hoping that wouldn't leak out.

Thought cross-dressing would hide my identity. Guess not.
