I used to watch Sledge Hammer when I was a kid.  Been meaning to pick up the series on DVD.

I wonder if it was explicitly an inspiration for e.g. Archer.

Microbes of New York (cutesy, not icky).

Gabriel Missé and Guillermina Quiroga:

Ugh, they're gonna be at Dardo Galletto tonight and I don't think I can go.

Not really. I just saw Alastair Macaulay tweet about it.

I tried to get back into Argentine Tango maybe 5 or 6 years ago, but I could never consistently find the time nor the motivation.

It's been my favorite kind of dance to do more or less since I got introduced to it in college, but I've always been better at ballroom, just because it's so much more structured, since even without choreography you at least have the syllabus to fall back onto there.

I'm not about to go to a milonga and embarrass myself tonight, at any rate.

Ballroom and social dance were such a big part of my life for so many years that I'd feel unacceptably guilty about not dancing.

Besides, these sorts of things usually have more women than men, right? (Even at my undergrad, which was otherwise 70/30 in the other direction.) (Okay, more followers than leaders if we want to use politically correct gender-agnostic terminology, that actually more accurately describes the situation.) (Anyway, I'm saying that one should dance if one attends a milonga.)

Ohhh I wish I went:

I also wish I knew where my dance shoes were.

Reading a review of this feels extremely silly, though.

Hard to imagine what might be the redeeming value of that video/presentation and why the audience was responsive?
