Wine list is very nice as far as breadth but quite young.

Speaking of which, I walked by Tocqueville today and looked at the menu. Some interesting things I haven't seen before, like a lobster cassoulet with boudin noir. .

I got all excited for a second, as that’s a combination that sounds wonderful. But I see it’s “shellfish boudin noir” (in quotes) on the menu... unless that involves fish blood (unlikely) I’m guessing it’s just a seafood sausage with squid ink or something, which I’m sure is tasty but maybe not so “oh, gotta try that”

Interesting. There are tuna hearts on the market now so it could be bloody, but you're probably right and I'm too lazy to ask them.

Ah, I was squinting at the printed menu by the door, so must have misread.

My favorite sushi omakase place, Cagen, is no longer sushi-focused. They've switched to a small plates/sake bar format.

That person who wanted a bowl of rice can now go back, victoriously.

Freek's Mill

Never made it, but did enjoy the wide-ranging discussion of Pete Wells' view of the neighborhood's 18th and 19th century history.

I'm surprised to hear that.  My experiences there were uniformly pleasant.
