we were back at alma earlier this month. a bad start with a 25 minute wait in the bar--no one checked in on us or offered us a drink (they did give us an app when we eventually sat down). the food is as it ever was--which is to say pretty good new american with various global influences (mexican here, korean there). when the bill arrived, however, it was disconcerting (again) to see the bill was on par with or higher than better restaurants in london (and let's not even talk about joe beef).

full review here.

We ate in the cafe a few times this summer and the service was slow and inattentive. Food was OK but expensive for what it was. The drinks were decent.

Honestly, the service issues were bad enough that it has put us off of considering the main room for a while.

as i noted in the review, this was the first time in a long while that we didn't have service issues in the main room. but being told to wait in the bar for a few minutes that turned into 25 while none of the staff milling around the entrance checked on us leave alone offered us a drink was very annoying. if we'd known it was going to be that long we might have got a drink ourselves.
