You should have posted last week, I ran into Trevor and could have asked (but then I hardly know what he's saying to that might not have helped). 


sandwiches that are large and filling and do not contain tuna or prawns

Agree with both possibilities. But I have no idea what the brownish thing is.

if it weren't so big i would have said it was an anchovy. (my small bite of the dish encompassed only the foliage.)
