I don't deal with much of that homeowner shit, just coop owner shit.

But I will mention that in the 16 years we've "owned" this apartment, I'm only on my 2nd fridge. Same brand as the first - well, this is a Kitchen Aid, the previous one was an Amana, but the exact same product with different names.  Nary a problem with the first, and so far, so good, on the newer one, which I figured had to happen with our kitchen reno.

My feeling about refrigerators is that they keep shit cold. And if they do that properly, that's all that matters. Ranges, dishwashers - that's a whole other story.

As far as air conditioners go...we only have window units. And in those same 16 years, I've probably had at least a dozen different air conditioners between the bedroom and the living "area." Basically, all pieces of shit, and I should've kept the first one I ever had, an old school Freidrich.

What is an “air conditioner”?

Yeah, we’re already thinking about some changes to our roof in the next renovation, to accommodate climate change.

I wish my fridge would die, because I would love to replace it with something with greater storage space.

Take it out of its misery, and get something that will make you happy!

Try to make sure it's not counter depth, because storage in those sucks.

Anything is better than the stupid side-by-side we have.

An almost 15 hour rolling delay for my 8:11 am LAS-ATL flight yesterday. Just made it to ATL at 5:30 am. Plane went mechanical after (they thought) a truck hit the lower portion of the tail. Then the mechanics actually broke what they thought they could repair. 3 different crews timed out. And the part had to be flown in from ATL. Of course DL held us captive for 8 hours until finally at 3:30 admitting 10 pm was the earliest we would depart. Ended up being about 10:45.

Now waiting for my flight to BHM. Then the drive to Tuscaloosa in rush hour. Facing meetings all day at the University. Totally sleep deprived. Mean as a rattlesnake. Look out anyone who crosses me today.

Really looking forward to returning the call from DL customer care on the drive over though 😈 It will be an epic takedown of the LAS station manager and GAs. That should ease some of the aggression that’s built up 😤🤬🤯

Ugggggh that sounds really horrible, sorry to hear that, my annoyance will sound small potatoes.

So what is the airline's responsibility to their customers in such a situation, from both a legal perspective and from a corporate policy perspective if, par chance, you know off the top of your head ? and then, what will the airline actually do in practice when their top customers are so inconvenienced ? Curiosity has me in its grip ... no rush whatsoever ... whenever you have a chance in ensuing days

My small potatoes ...I'm up now ! .... it's 4am and I have been for over an hour ... checked my taxi receipt home last night and it was 11pm and I was surely up for an hour after than. I actually stirred awake even earlier, thinking I had a pretty good night's sleep, tapped my phone, saw it was 2.30, couldn't believe it and tried to recount sheep and go back to sleep. After half an hour of failure, cuz I was replaying and reliving the prior day in my head (and what a crazy day it was), I realized that my mind is on fire and it's not about to die down anytime soon

I don't know what's going on ... I always effortlessly sleep so well ... it's been way too long for it to be jet lag ... thought about this every which way from Sunday ... and it could only be one thing methinks ...

It's caught me totally by surprise ... but I think I'm falling in love ... not with some PYT ... but with someone or something that's thousands of years old ... that's the best explanation that I can come up with at this time ... we shall see ...

Stranger things have happened ...

We're sitting in our nice seats at the lovely Minetta Lane theatre, about 10 minutes before curtain, when in walks a couple who take their seats across the aisle and a few rows down from us.

They then surreptitiously start eating McDonald's chicken things and fries.

I point them out to Significant Eater as the smell starts to waft over towards us.

Just fucking disgusting.  How are people so fucking disgusting?

Do not wash your face with hands that were recently used for eating Numbing and Spicy Crawfish. I may as well think sad thoughts, since I'm crying anyway. And it wasn't even that spicy!

Last year's supplemental assessment on my property taxes was made permanent, meaning that the value of "improvements" to my property (which we didn't make--thank you previous owners) nearly doubled in one year.  So, my taxes have risen nearly 38%.  I see a LOT more bean-based meals in my future.
