Guinea-pigs have been raised for food for a very long time, and they're not particularly expensive. I'm surprised there's enough of a market to make it worthwhile, if that's what you mean.

My friend's son had a snake. But I think he fed it specially raised mice. Maybe if it were a bigger snake, though.

I would prefer free range rats rather than farm raised.
