Providence gives 3 stars to Wild Ginger today.  Stop the madness!  (Though it fits perfectly with giving Cactus 3 stars, since they are the same restaurant, just different cultural paradigms.)

It may have been Camelot for Jack and Jacqueline
But on the Che Guevara highway filling up with gasoline
Fidel Castro's brother spies a rich lady who's crying
Over luxury's dissapointment
So he walks over and he's trying
To sympathize with her, but thinks that he should warn her
That the Thirld World is just around the corner

having just attended a concert at the Triple Door and thus been forced to endure Wild Ginger's cooking (and prices!) I continue to find this baffling.  Once upon a time (back when they were down on Western) they were actually good, but now?  I wouldn't choose their food if it were free, and don't get me started on the cocktails!!!

A change of meat is often good, and those who are wearied of common food take new pleasure in a novel meal.

No mall chain restaurants this year, so I guess that counts for progress!

Comments are pretty funny.

The comments are pretty amazing. Though, I will say, it seems a little ridiculous to have a best new restaurants of 2014 list on which there are only two restaurants that opened in 2014. The December 2013 ones I get--probably didn't have time to make the 2013 list. It's the August/September ones that make me raise an eyebrow...
