You could also fly in and out of San Jose and stay there or in Saratoga (the latter is near Los Gatos).

here's my crazy suggestion. stay in san francisco and drive down and if you're the driver just have two glasses of wine over what will be a 2-3 hour meal.


my annoying opinions: whisky, food and occasional cultural commentary

 

current restaurant review: house of curry (sri lankan in rosemount, mn)

 

current whisky review: glen ord 28

 

current recipe: white bean curry with green peppers

Consider that others on the road around midnight have probably had as much if not more to drink than you.  

 

Have another glass of wine at Manresa, stay in Los Gatos and enjoy the mellow afterglow of a perfect dinner.

You can also go by public transportation.
