Thanks to Sneak I now know we have a Just Copenhagen thread :)

I have an 18hr layover in CPH on the way back from the Faroes, landing ~4pm and leaving at 10am, so I only have time for one proper meal :(

I met a Vietnamese chef in Hanoi who had worked at Pescatarian and Kanalen. I have so much other stuff to research for the other part of the trip, that I’m inclined to be lazy and just choose one of those unless you guys have a better recommendation.

Hotel recommendations are welcome too. I might just leave the meal open to chance, but I will definitely need a decent police to sleep. After a week of getting up to shoot a 5am sunrise through an 11pm sunset I’ll probably be wrecked.

The Times recently inferred that if you can't book Noma, Relae is a good consolation prize.

Then that happened.

Thank you, Hollywood! Of course I’m on the waitlist for Noma but I’m operating under the assumption I won’t get in :)

There's also Alouette (recently earning their first star), opened a year or more ago by Nick Curtin and his wife Camilla Hansen.

Nick was the chef at the late, lamented Rosette, on East Broadway (currently the home of Mission Chinese Food).

Great guy, great cook.  Not quite as lovely as Camilla (who is a cover woman and actively models), but you get the picture.

okay, i'm not sure if you people are going to be of much use here (unless behemoth sees this) but: friends going to copenhagen for a few days with their 7 year old are asking for recommendations for good restaurants that are child-friendly (their daughter is very well behaved). anything?

my annoying opinions: whisky, food and occasional cultural commentary

current restaurant review: house of curry (sri lankan in rosemount, mn)

current whisky review: glen ord 28

current recipe: white bean curry with green peppers

Posted above yours - they (Camilla and Nick) have a 4-5 year old, so I'm guessing they're child friendly - can always call first.

there’s a swedish mommy blogger that someone brought to my attention, she’s got pictures of her kids at fiskebarren and most of the places you’d want to go except for the very high end (noma, geranium).

just to clarify--should have said it before--these friends are not looking to go to very expensive/michelin-starred places.
