What's the name of the place he's supposedly opening? I was trying to remember it while listening to this "Classical Commute" piece on WQXR. (It's not as incongruous it you might think; apparently he's trying to change the way the NYC subway turnstiles sound.)

Aw, man, I love that thread title.

Has anyone been?

Ho ho, look, I'm cited on DNAinfo tweeting the same thing as everybody else.  How humiliating.  :P

Thanks. I'm old; I don't pay attention to people like that and all their miraculous skills.

It's just when I heard that piece on the radio, I thought about what a terrific PR person he has.

Not quite. They've been doing a series on musicians who make the commute more pleasant by playing in the subway. This week was about his attempts to get the MTA to change the way turnstiles sound, at least until they phase out Metrocards in a few years. The report said his proposal has fallen on deaf ears (yes, it really said that) and ended with a sample of what he's proposing instead.

Maybe he should stick to wine bars.

Clearly, the man has more money than he knows what to do with.

They're gonna replace metrocards with an RFID type thing. They're still working out the details.

Man about town.

I suppose that could be an improvement.  My body seems to demagnetise current MetroCard technology: I swear I've lost a couple of hundred dollars' worth of fares this way.  Or possibly I've been carrying round a powerful magnet in my manpurse...

Yeah, let's condescend to James Murphy. Because music we don't like is, like, worthless.

The fact that he may be, at the very least, intelligently diverting (and possibly a good deal better)-- why should that matter?

No wonder people who should know better don't give classical music a chance, but instead mistakenly view it as some high-hat imposition.

Let's make sure to keep it that way.

Let's make sure that everybody thinks of classical music as the music of snobs.

Yay us.
