I had some pretty good Tiki drinks at Isla. And was introduced to Monkey 47 gin there.

Hitting Emmer and Rye tomorrow night... have heard good things.  Olamaie is great.  Definitely 'cue.  Small Victory is about to open... should be a good place to drink.

Isn't the Bklyn bar "Weather Up" only a block or two away from Bufalina on Chavez on Austin's East Side? Steven would know if it's good

The NY Times discovers Franklin Barbecue.

ETA: well, no, to be honest, they're covering the line, not the fod.

This is New York.  The line and the food are the same thing.

Cool piece, but even more exciting: one day left to get your Roberta's / Franklin / Bufalina fix!

Not just out of foodboard loyalty, I'd be willing to bet money that the quality of the pizzas declined during the takeover.

Olamaie's entree menu is a bit limited: fish, chicken or several Wagyu cuts.

Are there are any BBQ recommendations which don't involve 3 hours in line, or are even open in the evening?

Do you have a car?  If so then it's worth it to go to Taylor (Mueller's) or Lockhart (Kreutz et al).  Kreutz is least likely to have run out of brisket by the evening.

Iron Works shouldn't have a 3 hour line and it's well located.  Locals will often try to send you to Salt Lick, they're wrong (the idea that the average Texan knows BBQ is just as wrong as the idea that cab drivers know where to eat)

Iron Works is a great suggestion, thanks.  I won't have much time to get away from dowtown.
