I totally agree that grinding before brewing makes a significant difference. I weigh out my beans the night before and put it in the hopper.
It is better to have beans and bacon in peace than cakes and ale in fear.

Pre-grinding is pretty much the worst thing ever.
I didn't tip at Per Se either.

The accuracy problems have, in my case, at least, largely been ameliorated by the replacement feet they sent out.

Of course, as I just discovered, you get all sorts of strange signals if you forget to fill the hopper.
