Five Acre Farms is a distributor of milk, cheese, butter, yogurt etc from family farms within 275 miles.  Although Norwich NY is mentioned on the label, the distributor is in Brooklyn. Norwich is north and east of Binghamton.  Farms mentioned are in NY MA CT, etc, so they transcend federal milk districts, at least as far as their fresh milk is concerned.

It's impressive yogurt, with slightly sour yogurt taste, lots of mouth filling goodness in the plain version.  Fine Fare, Gourmet Garage, some Key Foods, Fairway Kips Bay, Sahadi, Brooklyn Fare, etc carry it.  Fairway Woodland Park charges $5.99 for a pint.  It's also in many KingsMarket stores in NJ.

Marketing material and point of sale info places a premium on the family aspect and the local aspect. This farmer is fourth generation. That yogurt maker employs 50 local people on a full time basis.  Both elements carry into each background piece.
