A nicely crafted historical drama about the marriage of the prince of Botswana (David Oyeloyo) and his white wife (Rosamund Pike) and their oft thwarted efforts to create a democracy in his country.  British racism and colonialism get dissed as does Winston Churchill.  http://www.imdb.com/...ef_=tt_ov_st_sm

Was saw a trailer for this, and it looked interesting. Maybe we'll go to more than one or two movies this year.

this is on our short list

“One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. 'Oh, no!', I said, 'Disneyland burned down.' He cried and cried, but I think that deep down he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late.”

This is a tough call knowing your limited viewing, but I'd say "Get Out" is better to see than this.  Although there's no denying David Oyelowo can act all over the place.

N knows the story very well, and had even visited their house during one of the family's trips to Botswana.  Her father also worked extensively in Botswana.  She enjoyed the film, though she found it a little schmaltzy and wished they hadn't just focused on the romance.  I think she wanted more of what happened as the country moved towards independence.

But serious content won't sell tickets. Mush will.
