Check the freezer and the linen closet. I have found some interesting lost things in those places.

When the smoke detector just outside the kitchen (that's where it was when we moved in) wouldn't shut up even when removed from the wiring, we tossed it in the freezer until it stopped.

That would be a good way to shut me up, too.

If I start putting CDs in the microwave, I really do have dementia, right?

OTOH, back in the '90s, audiophiles put CDs into the freezer on purpose.

Since this is a specific and recurring kind of annoyance, at least for me as my brain enters its twilight years, I thought I'd start a separate thread for it.

Where did I put the backpack I use for marketing?  It isn't where it goes.  I know I brought it back from the Greenmarket this morning, because I unloaded my purchases into my refrigerator.  But then where did I put the backpack?  (Yes, I looked in my refrigerator.)

How could I lose a fucking backpack?  Where could I have put it that can't be seen?

I rarely carry a backpack, but recently had one packed to bursting with dry cleaning and vegetables. Stopped for a drink on the way home. Next morning, can't find this over-stuffed backpack. Looked everywhere. Damn, must have left it in the bar.

But wait: I cooked and ate the vegetables last night.

I had unpacked it, put everything away, and neatly stored it--and don't really remember doing so.

It will get scarier and scarier. Fasten your seatbelt.

If anyone knows where my wine bottle foil cutter is, I'd love to be told.

I hope it isn't in the garbage. I'm going to leave it till tomorrow to check.

And I thought my forgetfulness was caused by drinking too much wine :)

The good news is that wine is good for lowering LDL and raising HDL, also for strengthening your bones.     At least I've been told both of these by doctors.

The better news is that you don't need a foil cutter to get wine out of a bottle.
