If only I was the only person who only ever touched kitchenware, it would certainly help.

Yes - but you've obviously not taught the rules well. Also, the way my knives are scares pain in the ass people who might misplace things, away.

I am rolling on the floor imagining successfully teaching rules to my family.

So my missing steak knife turned up within a couple of days without my posting about it.  My cleaning lady had put it somewhere unexpected but not completely undiscernable.

STILL missing that watch.

I went apeshit looking for my marble cheese slab last night (as one does), eventually discovering that my “family” had stolen a page from Poe and hidden it in plain sight in the kitchen.

Dastardly.

How do knives move around in my knife block without my doing it?

Well, I didn't want to mention that the Falk, in addition to being superior cookware, has certain mystical powers.

Can the Falk copper mystically sharpen nearby knives? I can't remember when we've last sharpened ours.

Lovely spouse's ringbound "family cookbook" has been missing for several weeks. I won't miss the oysters-baked-with-Ritz-crackers recipe, a Thanksgiving standard that's only only regret about this marriage.

I found the plastic spatula, kind to delicate pans, at the back of the correct drawer. Took a couple of months to find it because it had wedged itself into the back of the drawer, so it was never visible even when drawer pulled fully out.

Actually this is more the spatula’s fault than mine.

That ad on MSNBC which asks if I’m worried about memory loss associated with aging.

“Yes,” I say, because obviously I talk to the television.

Next commercial break it asks me again.

“You don’t remember?” I say. “Maybe you should take some of that medication you’re pushing. Don’t ask me again.”

I love this thread. Between the babysitters and the cleaning lady I've given up on finding any of my kitchen stuff.
