I scored 19.

Anyone done all 30?

Eight. Since I don't eat meat, I don't think I could do much better, even if I were more free-spending and less weight-conscious.

27.

I would like to note that New York's iconic pancakes are at Tom's in Prospect Heights, not some newish place on the Lower East Side.  Everybody knows that.

I struck out on pancakes and cookies.  My problem is meat dishes for two, so missed the NoMad chicken too. And never did go to Carbone.

Others, well you can't eat everything, S. Majumdar notwithstanding.

What did you miss other than the pancakes, Sneak?

I've been to Tom's, but would never have ordered the pancakes (I don't think).

If this is indeed the case, I would venture that 1/3 of the dishss are not truly iconic.

Where's the chocolate egg-cream at the Gem Spa, for instance (though I did like inclusion of a halal guy).

I got 19 too, Wilf. Though I might've had the mutton chops, I just don't remember.

Eggs Benedict at Delmonico's

Now that I think of it, I have had the Halal Guys combo.

So 28.

I know I had the mutton chop, and I know I wish I'd had a steak.  :D

I wonder, too.

Eggs Benedict might be iconic, but it's mere nostalgia to suggest that the one served at the current Delmonico's is a more iconic version than any other.

My daughter gets the Halal Guys combo, while I usually get a sandwich, but I'm sure I've helped her with it.  So tick.

Not to mention the Roumanian steak at Sammy's.

I said not to mention the Roumanian steak at Sammy's!

(I'm here all week, folks.)

And not a single bacon, egg and cheese on a kaiser roll?!

Not to be ironic, but talk about iconic!

Right. It's not like current Delmonico's is related in any real way to the restaurant that allegedly invented that dish.

How would you choose, though?

Ask a 19 year old intern at Eater?
