I guess it may be called  a 21st century version of the Federico García Lorca play from 1934. At the Park Avenue Armory; what a beautiful building and performance space.

 

Some of the most amazing acting I've seen on stage; and the staging was pretty wild too.  

 

This play will (and did) knock the wind out of you (us).

 

I don't know how actors can get up there and perform this material on a nightly basis...it has to be emotionally, as well as physically, wrecking.  Perhaps that's why it is such a short run.

Billie Piper has come a long way since Dr Who and Secret Diary of a Call Girl.  Well done, her.

She could barely stand to take her bows at the end of the show.

 

Just really an outstanding performance.
