There was a thread about 1-2 years ago that involved some discussion of men's custom suiting that I can no longer track down. This thread probably wasn't even dedicated to clothing so it has been even trickier to track down. I also clicked on the fashion forum and it seems to be dead or inactive for me (the irony).

I remember there being some positive discussion of Mr. Ned and I'd made a mental note to go there when I had the opportunity. Well, that opportunity is now and I wanted to refresh my memory on anyone's insight into his work.

I've had some custom suiting done by Mysuit at one of their NYC stores and it was fine, but I am ready for the next step up. Spoke with the man himself today and will probably be visiting next Friday (he confirmed that an appointment is not necessary and to arrive before 4:00).

Can't imagine this will be a busy thread but your thoughts are welcome and appreciated.

Please move this to the appropriate forum, if needed.

It's not the finest tailoring in the world -- it's somewhere between made-to-measure and real bespoke -- but it's a fabulous deal and I love everything he's made for me.

I'd say to try to avoid his stock fabrics.

I looked for that thread in the fashion area but didnt find it.

if you look at full version of the board you can use the custom bar to show you older topics.

I found some of the Bespoke discussion here:

I'm sure there's more.

It's well-executed MTM. No need to caveat it. No individual patterns at Mr Ned.

But still great and quite worthwhile. Definitely a step up in quality but only a half-step up in price from something like My.Suit.

I didn't tip at Per Se either.

This went very well. The fabric selection really did open up nicely at the second level up from his base price.
Great experience so far and deposit paid.

Thanks to all and will update.

Is the elder Mr Ned still there? I got two suits and a tuxedo there quite a few years ago but haven't made it back in a while...if only it was a bit closer to my office.

The elder comes in very very occasionally to do whatever the Armenian word for kibitzing is.
