So I “literally” was last in Dallas when Dean Fearing was cooking at The Mansion, and that was really good.

I’ll be there in spring-time. Welcoming tips from anyone who’s been there more recently, either high-end or casual. Also, anything worth seeing (assume I did the JFK stuff last time).

You could check out the remains of the Cabana Motor Hotel where the Beatles stayed and Raquel Welch once served cocktails.  https://flashbackdal...otel-of-dallas/  Or hear some music in Deep Ellum.

For hotels I really like The Adolphus.  Good location too.  Strongly recommend going to the Kimball and Modern in Fort Worth if you haven't been.

I did stay at the Adolphus on the same trip as visiting Mansion on Turtle Creek. It is grand.

Looking at Ships Lounge as a historic bar.

Elm Street Cask & Kitchen looks good. Fearing’s in the Ritz-Carlton might be amazing but it looks like a sucker bet.

Elm Street is just a short walk as well. Going with these choices unless someone throws their Stetson down.

Well this place is dead on Sunday and Monday nights. Dinner last night in a place where only one other table had diners (and I reserved). Sitting now in a Deep Ellum honky tonk which I am sure is wild on a Saturday.

Sorry, it's slow.  Perhaps repair to your room and read this.  https://www.texasmon...-was-jack-ruby/

That was a good era for Joe and the band; and he's even better now!

Looking forward to Austin next week.
