OK, not to make myself too vulnerable here, but I have to meet someone for dinner Friday night. That's all I am going to say!!! LOL.

She needs to bring her daughter and two friends to a Bat Mitzvah, on Friday night, and drop them off at 730pm in West Orange...and then she is going to meet me. However, she has to pick up her daughter and her friends at 1130pm...so I get in between the two! LOL.  So she can drive 30 minutes to meet me, we can have between 8pm and 11pm, and then she can drive 30 minutes to pick up her daughter at 1130pm back in West Orange.

So, I'd like to go for dinner -- I am completely open minded, it could be nice, fine dining, or casual, but upscale. I am looking for her to have a fun time...so let me throw two thoughts out there, although I don't know the details of either, and haven't been to either...The Montclair Social Club...which has a live jazz band on Friday night...or...Dinner in the Dome, at The Manor...which is upstairs, not as upscale, more casual, but nice, at The Manor. There's a rooftop deck/lounge, a DJ, and a casual small plates "bar menu" -- no entrees, but some decent looking small plates, appetizers, etc.

Any other ideas? Something good, fun, nice! Thank you in advance.

I haven’t been to Montclair Social Club but I heard it is very noisy. It might be difficult to have a conversation. If you want a really nice dinner, and are ok without having any live entertainment, then I would highly recommend Laurel and Sage in Montclair. If you don't mind Spanish food, Sayola in Montclair is a beautiful looking new restaurant with exemplary service. Both are BYO’s.

The music they play at Laurel & Sage is fantastic, actually.

I decided to go to Fascino -- primarily for the ambiance, and it was going to be more quiet -- so that we could really talk and spend some quality time together.

Very positive and very nice...both on the food and the company...   :+1:

Details to follow...on the restaurant and food/dinner that is...LOL.

That’s an excellent choice. We haven’t been to Fascino in a while. I’m looking forward to your report.
