This is a good high energy biopic of Sir Elton John with all his warts showing (although with more hair).  At times the direction of Dexter Fletcher is so flamboyant it reminds me of Ken Russell in his more outrageous moments.  The choice was made to present some songs out of chronological order to comment on the action on screen.

I really liked it, and 4 days later still can't get most of the songs out of my head.

You think he could be a hit songwriter?

Reg Dwight has a bio pic? Good for him.

I hope and understand that Oscar Hammerstein is prominently featured.

Sorry, Bernie Taupin.

Bernie comes off like a long-suffering saint.  John Reid comes off as a total dick.  Dick James comes off initially as a dick who later sees there is money to be made so he gets very friendly.  No Hammerstein that I recall.  It seems Elton's dad was something of an audiophile who favored jazz.

Wow - was shocked for a moment - thought this was a political thread.

Carry on...

You're thinking of Little Rocketman, not to be confused with Elton Hercules John aka Rocketman.

Saw it on a plane.  Very enjoyable.  I think Taron Egerton did a terrific job.

I'd forgotten how huge Elton John was in the 70s.
