How about April 15 or 16 for the BBQ fest chez tighe? What better way to drown you tax sorrows than in a mountain of ribs?

Last time everyone signed up to provide one classic (or not so classic) barbeque side, dessert or beverages and chipped in for the ribs. Same this time?

We'll claim baked beans right off the bat....
It may have been Camelot for Jack and Jacqueline
But on the Che Guevara highway filling up with gasoline
Fidel Castro's brother spies a rich lady who's crying
Over luxury's dissapointment
So he walks over and he's trying
To sympathize with her, but thinks that he should warn her
That the Thirld World is just around the corner

Friday would be hard -- given that work means no time for prep -- Saturday better. In a pinch, we could do either. Can we bring the visiting UK Crottys with us (2 plus baby)? They're quite carnivorous and likely starved for good 'cue in London.

We'll bring potato salad for sure. Maybe cobbler also if we can find good fruit.

Thank you tighe.

I vote for the 16th (Saturday) as there is a strong chance I will still be working on our taxes down to the wire on the 15th.

Any chance of having it during the day on Saturday, or at least late afternoon rather than evening?

My side dish is still to be determined...

Great idea, Saturday would be better for me as well, Dani will probably come. I volunteer to make sweet tea and mojitos.

Sign me up for Saturday, plus one guest. We'll bring an assortment of deviled eggs and some kind of home baked riff on the wonder bread so commonly served with BBQ.

Hmmm...any objections if we moved that date back a week so that the divine MsRamsey could attend? I don't think it matters much to us.

We vote for the 23rd, if at all possible, so that MsRamsey could be included.

Either the 23rd or the 16th is good for us. I either want to bring my special cheese enchiladas (for a non-traditional side), or a dessert. There's this 9 layer caramel cake I've been dying to try, but it needs a crowd to eat it up.

That would be really swell if it's not a big inconvenience. I only found out yesterday that my company will be having a meeting on 4/22. I'm really looking forward to getting back to Seattle for a few days.

This would be my preference too. If weather is good, we could take advantage of the yard and wouldn't disrupt the munchkin's evening routine as much. That said, if most would prefer an evening get-together, that's OK too.

I was bummed because we couldn't do the 16th, but if it's changed to the 23rd, SeaGuy and I are in. I'll need to think about what to bring. Perhaps a cabbage salad with a Latin American twist (read hearts of palm and lots of cilantro and lime), or that bean salad with chorizo from the Food and Wine event. Hmmm......half the fun is in the pondering, isn't it?

Mid to late afternoon is fine with us.

Thanks for hosting this, tighe. It'll be nice to see MsRamsey too

The 23rd sounds good to me. I need a MsRamsey fix

The Jones bbq event at Tighe and Scrat's was my first ever eG event and I often thank the whatever powers that be for giving me the chance to meet all of you. Do you think we can convince Nightscotsman to come up for it too?! And has Schielke come over here yet? And Seawakim and Seawadave?
