Yes - I have an old 40G iPod which is broken in the ON position so it's only useful as a stationary unit, in our Bose dock or hooked up to a stereo. It lives upstate now. I have a shuffle too. So I was planning to buy an 8G iPod nano, but then this damn iPhone came along. And now I'm traumatized.

One of my mac god friends was here today for a couple of hours, and he talked me into it....almost. I guess what I really should do is buy the 2G nano, and wait for the next version if the iPhone to appear.

But if the iPhone is available for $300...might change my thinking.

My friend warned me to stay out of the Apple store - he said that if I play with an iPhone, there's no way I'll leave the store without one. I believe him.

The smart money says that you'll own one by Wednesday of next week.

since we were already at&t customers our activation took about 3 minutes. i love the phone- the photos are awesome and easy to use, the programs like maps, phone book, messaging, etc are sooooo perfect! listening to the iPod and seeing a call come in but deciding to ignore it based on who was calling  yep, I'm in love with it!

We were lucky enough to play around with little ms foodie's iPhone the other night. I immediately fell in love. What sealed the deal for me was when she told me they were really only $300 not the $500 I'd read. We'll be heading out next week to get one.

Where is this available for only $300?

I believe they bought it at the Apple store in Seattle.

Lauren, can you check with them? Apple is not offering it in their stores for that price. They offer two versions - $499 and $599.

You know you really want one. And after all, don't you owe it to yourself? Come on, what's $400 or $500? You spend that on sushi in a week. Sushi is but a fleeting pleasure. The iPhone will make you happy forever.

Yes yes it will. But it will make me even happier when it's better. I need to do and tasks on my synching iCal.

And you can't fool me with that 400 or 500, Mr. Smarty Pants.
