Gavin Rossdale was sitting a few rows away from us at the Federer match at Indian Wells last week. I hear that he and Gwen are bff's with Federer and his wife.

On the panel at the Experience Music Project's keynote talk last night: Angelique Kidjo and Esperanza Spaulding. Not only is Kidjo a great vocalist, she's a funny and engaging storyteller.

I was mistaken for Emanuel Ax once.

That I could see. At least from the third tier of Avery Fisher.

But I also have no idea who most of the people mentioned are. Not even with photos. I'm so uncool.

Although I did know who Russ Tamblyn is. In fact, my first thought was: Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and the movie version ofWest Side Story.

Elvis Costello at the bar during intermission at Carnegie Hall tonight.

(A lot of Old People were coming up to pay court to him.)

I've seen him in the VIllage's Citarella. He keeps his head well down. (I was tempted to say hi, but thought better of it, poor thing.)

I'd be tempted to creep up behind him singing "I'm a secret lemonade drinker..."

Twice in less than a week, Dean Winters (aka Johnny Gavin on Rescue Me and Mayhem in those horrible Allstate commercials) in Soho/the West Village. Very easy on the eyes.

He was also excellent in Oz.

Frances de la Tour, Melvyn Bragg (with whom we spoke during the interval--it was strange, I took him to be a friend of ours, he looked so familiar) and I'm pretty certain Catherine Keener a few seats away in our row. All at the Music Box last Friday.
