Basingstoke is a bit of a desert as far as food shopping goes (it doesn't seem too bright on eating out either but I'd be happy to be corrected on that matter) but I would like to recommend Delissimo, an Italian deli, in Church Street. Not what you NYers would recognise as an Italian deli but, for Basingstoke, it's pretty good. Use it or lose it.
