Rosemary's has closed.
That's a shame.
We had a delightful meal there on a previous trip, and found it to be a wonderful restaurant. Pleasant people, good food, nice atmosphere, good prices.
Any idea on what the owners and chef plan to do next?

Alex Stratta has left the Wynn. No word on what will be done with Stratta (the restaurant).
A very classy guy, I'm sure he will do well.
It will be interesting to see how the various hotel ownership groups configure their restaurant operations going forward. It would seem that they're trending away from individualized, high charisma chefs. That's strange considering people like Wynn and Adelson always liked stocking their places with "names" who could attract high rollers.
I just finished reading a report on Cantor Gaming taking over the sports book operations at Union Plaza, adding it to the six they already run.

That he is. And, he's had a rough year personally. A serious health scare and a divorce. He's going to help out some local food related charities, work on promoting healthier lifestyles and spend more time with his kids.

Jaleo, "e", China Poblano, DOCG. Vesper for drinks. All at the Cosmopolitan. There is also a 'secret pizza place' there (not a place for a business dinner, but good pizza). It doesn't have a name. Was originally supposed to be there for the employees. Just down an unmarked hallway with all the records near it. Scarpetta here has some very nice pastas and an outdoor patio. Milos has a very inexpensive (and quality) prix fixe lunch. Le Cirque is back on the go to list since Gregory Pugin has taken over the kitchen.
I'm a sucker for secret pizza places, so I'll have to give that one a try when I'm in town in December.
I'll second the lunch at Milos. It's exactly the kind of meal that Steve P would love yet abhor; simple, been there/done that Greek food, done as it's always been done, yet done exceedingly well, with very high quality ingredients. Great space too.
Just as long as you leave my "Alinea II: Electric Boogaloo" thing alone. - jinmyo

That sounds like an intriguing description. Cosmopolitan seems to be developing a distinct identity as a boutique of very individualized restaurants. That's great news.

"Winter in Venice" as envisioned by the hotel doesn't involve cold winds off the Adriatic, water up to your knees in front of the Doge's Palace, or navigating the boards every where else in town.
Nice gallery of pictures and some recipes
As Mario worked with his wood-burning sidewalk grill outside the Venetian by the outdoor gondolas, he joked that his signature orange Crocs can’t ever come off. Mario stepped onto the ice skating rink to pose for photographs without falling -- thanks to Michael Hewitt of IS Photography/ImagesofVegas.com for his photo gallery -- and then with the holiday characters and adoring fans.
Mario served slices of his signature pizza and simultaneously provided cooking tips, including how to slowly stretch dough with thumbs instead of tossing it in the air. Mario introduced his Executive Chef Zach Allen from his restaurants at the Venetian and Palazzo -- Otto Enoteca Pizzeria, B&B Ristorante and Carnevino Italian Steakhouse -- who led a line of sous chefs all wearing orange crocs to help Mario serve slices to the crowd.

I was seduced by the price and paying for 6 rooms out here for 8 days.. I am staying at Bally's. I arrived last night around midnight and they were out of rooms.. They put me in a suite and are going to have tough time getting me out of it on Friday.. Does anyone know of any good restaurants in this hotel?
Thanks
Walk next door to the Paris and eat at Mon Ami Gabi. (Am I thinking of the right hotel?)
