You guys are going to have to break down and have the fabulous brisket some day.

Or the stupendous pastrami/brisket combo.

You know, that looks really good.

Although, is that cheese on top? That's a subject that was never broached with me.

That picture is from their website. (The other ones were taken by me.) I give you my solemn guarantee I will never order it with cheese. Or mayo.

I assumed that, Lex. I'd never imagine that of you. I was just kind of surprised that they seemed to be pushing it.

Come to think of it, the woman who asked for mustard and mayo also asked for swiss cheese. Besides being so wrong, that sandwich is just not crying out for the extra sat fat.

It could be worse. She could have asked for Ranch dressing.

Thousand Island. Not easy to find a good Reuben sandwich in NYC.

At the risk of digression  - my first night ever in the city; first time I ever set foot here; I checked into my hotel on West 57th, wandered around, then ate a Reuben sandwich at a gigantic deli near the Russian Tea Room. The sandwich was spectacular. I have never since been able to figure out where I ate it. Definitely not Stage or Carnegie. Was there a huge, very brightly lit deli around there, long gone? I am talking about 1989.

Anyway, that was as good a Reuben as I've ever had.

Why live your life when you could curate it?
