Or you can make a reservation at a civilized time at Ed's Chowder House and enjoy a 5 Course Dinner prepared by Chef Ed Brown for $55. http://www.chinagril...ions/?r=58&p=76

4:30 so I can have a reasonable chance of being within the first dozen parties. I seriously doubt folks converge at 5:30. If I showed up at 5:30, that might already be too late.

Your mileage may vary, but I showed up at 5:30 on a Friday evening, with room to spare. Not a lot of room...but room. I think 5:30 (for the first seating at 6:00) should cut it on almost any day of the week.

If I go to Torrisi at 12:30 today, will I have to wait an hour?

I've gone at a similar time and not waited very long at all - but its just sandwiches and antipasti that time of day.
Why not mayo?

You WILL have to wait, but in my experience much less than an hour.

I have no doubt it is not for everyone. Wait times, really small and tight. But I had a enjoyable dinner there and walked away impressed. Also got there at 5:45 and made the first seating. BBQ lamb shoulder excellent!

I enjoyed it but truthfully would be hesitant to recommend it to you on your short visits. Nothing earth shattering but well prepared food with obvious talent behind it.
Sometimes that's good enough.

Somehow, that strikes me as an oxymoron. And I happen to love turkey.

And Robert, sorry I got distracted. I'm thrilled you made it to Torrisi, and I'm glad to hear you enjoyed the meal there.
