This or "surreal" might be the place to put things, but I was trolling through some apartment sites that Guardian was shilling today and came up on this:
my old apartment, or at least the same line in the building.

much nicer than bromley-by-bow and tower hamlets, where i lived. never, never date a rich boy living a pretend socialist life. "penny for the miners"

Gentrification will eat us all.
Why not mayo?

do tenants pay extra for getting stabbed in the head?

“One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. 'Oh, no!', I said, 'Disneyland burned down.' He cried and cried, but I think that deep down he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late.”

I would be depressed not to stay in the West End. I lived there for a number of years and everything I would want to do is there.

This is Central (OK, Clerkenwell). An area I've never stayed in. But mere steps from St. John (I know) and Fabric (I know).

I sorta like staying in that part of town, but my friends always think its weird.

It's a good choice for a visitor actually -- the food and art action is more in that part of town, and you don't want to be near
good schools or green open spaces anyway. Not maybe the best place to raise a family but better for a week visiting. and it is close
to what we euphemistically call "the heart of London's theatreland",

Yes, Clerkwenwell is well-situated. Hoxton, Islington, not too far from the West End.

Why live your life when you could curate it?
