Strong recommendation for this very extensive show of videos and photos recording Nakadate's "actions" over, I guess, the last ten years.

I was deeply impressed by the emotional complexity of the works. An accusing voice in my head insisted on telling me that it wasn't boring (like much video art) because the artist is very attractive. But I really think she surrounds her appearance with questions to great effect.

I would be interested in other opinions. Is this just an art crush, or is she really good?

Ooh, I was sexist. I refer to her by her first name after the jump. I wouldn't do that with a male artist unless I knew him personally.

hmmm, i met her once, under friendly circumstances, but haven't looked more than a blush at her work. guess i will.
