I'll be spending one night in Bristol next month. Simon says that Riverfront is a good place to eat.

I spent the summer before my senior year in high school as an AFS exchange student in Keynsham, between Bath and Bristol. IIRC, the name of the school my English "sister" took me to for the last few weeks before the end of term was Clifton College, on the outskirts of Bristol. I remember the lunches being dreadful, but the girls quite a bunch of fun. The school play that year was Cymbeline.

I remember Keynsham and also Clifton College, although I didn't know they'd gone co-ed.

I've been to Bristol since the trip described there, but not for several years, so I am not a good source of recommendations. Although the Elizabethan pubs are doubtless still prospering.
