WSJ:

Japan has bested France for the number of restaurants that received the coveted three-star billing from the esteemed publication, according to the upcoming 2012 edition centered on the country’s western locales.

They want to pay you!The Japanese Ministry for The Prevention of Tourism has decided to offer 10,000 visitors a free trip to Japan next year. Knowing how they think, I'm sure such a visit would involve a day trip to Fukushima Posted Image

Depending on when/if I change jobs, I am planning a trip to japan at the beginning of March. Probably won't have the funds to do more than 1 Michelin 3*, if that. I really miss having all that disposable income!

I'd be in for a free flight from JTA. As my father used to say, you'll die however you're meant to die (it's a Buddhist thing, I guess), so if I'm meant to die from radiation poisoning or cancer, so be it!

The flight giveaway won't start until April, if at all, since the whole scheme has not even been approved yet! Darn!

IT's amazing how bad they are at this. Look at the poor deluded chief anti-tourist officer - in August he saw two families of foreigners after not seeing any in June, everything has recovered!

haven't they just back-tracked on this saying the information was leaked before the program was officially approved?
