I went Saturday night 11/19 and it was an awesome dinner, really well executed and balanced modern Portuguese flavors. It was like feeling back at home in Spain/Portugal.
This type of dinners are going to be BIG! David is such a good guy and excellent cook!

Hey, someone should have told Mike to get his arm out of my face while you were taking that picture!

Nice to meet you, Jose, and your friend Elise.

Great meal. You should all go if you haven't already.

The best part was when we all got together after dinner and threw Chef Santos's bed through his window.

I haven't had so much fun in connection with a dinner in years.

Hello everyone,

So the next set of dates has been decided upon. The dates will be on December 8th, 9th, and 10th and the theme of the dinner will be alimentos da nossa casa. This translates to foods or elements of our home. What it's going to be is foods that i grew up eating both in my home and on my travels with my family in Portugal. Unlike menus from the past where they had Portuguese influences these are going to be some of the actual foods that drove me to want to cook and become a chef. As usual the dinners will start at 8pm. However this time most of the items will be served family style to give everyone a feeling of togetherness and commonality just like we did growing up. In our household it was always important to have a sense of friends and family at the dinner table and it made those meals that much more speacial. Hopefully through this event i can pass a little of my upbringing onto you all. Dinner will be $65 a person this time and the menu will be as follows.

Amuse

First course

Escabeche of spanish mackerel
Pickled vegetables and toasted bread

Saute pigs ear salad
Roasted garlic and winter kale

Second course

Pork & Clams
Braised pork butt, potatoes, cockles

Cod brandade
Roasted garlic, yukon gold potatoes

Third Course

Roasted Leg of Goat
Roasted root vegetables

Dessert

Orange flan with toasted almonds

Hello everyone,

So to help everyone plan their month a little better i am going to give the details of almost all the dinners coming up for the month of December. All dinners start at 8 but prices may vary depending on the theme of the dinner. Please email for reservations for your favorite dates. And as usual please remember that menus are subject to change but all changes will be sent to those of you that have the reservations.

The first set as a reminder is the Portuguese foods that i grew up with. This dinner is all about my memories of youth. The foods i ate with my family here and through my travels of Portugal. To keep with the family them the dinner will be served family style. This dinner is going to be set at $65 a person and will be held on December 8th-10th. Here is the menu.

The following dinners keeping with the theme of childhood memories will be based on a more american childhood. The fun foods that most people grew up eating. But they will be an inspiration and not an exact replica The dates for these will be december 14th to the 16th. That menu will be $75 a person and will be as follows.

Rabbit confit, spiced pepper jelly, cilantro, napa, salted peanuts

Grill cheese
Smoked tomato soup, aged cheddar grill cheese

Mac N Cheese

Beyond that i will give you all the dates to the Christmas week menu and the new years weeks menu but with just a few details. The dates for Christmas week will be from the 21st to the 23rd and the new years week dates will be the 28th to the 30th. Christmas week will be a menu inspired by my favorite holiday movie(Christmas Story). While the new years week menu will be a celebration of all things GAME!! I have the menus set for the most part but want to be able to confirm availability and price closer to the dates. Hope to see you all soon.

Dave, You haven't stated the dates for the "childhood memories" dinners. So, to be clear, will they be on December 15, 16, and 17?

Hey just fixed it. They will be the 14th through the 16th since someone has booked a private one on the 17th. Thanks for that.
