No guts, no glory.Right: I am mainly kidding, but one different decision and you could have had a 50% bad day. I always said this was risky.

And the two that were most explicitly Italian (Keste and Forcella) were IMO the best. Most of these Pizza places are claiming not to be Italian-American, but just plain Italian.
(I like Co. as well - but I'm not sure where I'd place it geographically)

(a) Latinos have moved out of the neighborhoods and/or don't eat cuchifritos any more (eGullet); or
(b) You can't pay rent increases selling fried meat at $1 a piece (me).

Pulino's has, imo, gotten much better...though it was not good to begin with. I thought I'd read (maybe from Daniel) that Luzzo's was on a serious downhill slide.
33.33% dreadful. You got off lightly.
I agree. We passed Pulino, Lombardi's & a few other places that could've changed thel % (for the worse, I'd guess). I would think that Arturo's would've split the crowd (I like it and so does Joethefoodie, but I know others that don't). Of course, we could've tempted fate (and my arteries) and walked to 2nd Ave to hit Luzzo's, Mororino and a couple of other places as well but I guess that waits for another day.
And still to my taste, the best by the slice, is Joe's on 6th.

I think if you are younger than you are you admire Joe's more. It really has by default become one of the best slice pizza places in ManhattanI always liked Joe's well enough -- happy to pull a slice there whenever I have a chance -- but I never could see what the fuss was about.
