Pizza in the Scranton / W-B area

The style of pizza is described as thick crust, red sauce, and mild cheese.
The first place is Salerno's Cafe, 139 Moosic Road, Old Forge, PA (off South Main Street on the west side of the river)
Looks like a nice bar serving square pizza from the pictures on Google's site. Michael Stern's narrative on the Roadfood site describes the crust as light and airy, the pictures suggest a thicker, Sicilian like crust. The white pie is available only at dinner.
The other place is
Victory Pig Pizza & BBQ, 905 Wyoming Avenue (US 11), Wyoming PA, next to the McDonald's
It's only open Wednesday through Saturday, and only for dinner. Cash only. Car-hop service (!) available.
One site posted two unauthorized recipes for a pizza said to resemble Victory Pig's product. The owner sent the site an email asserting the recipes were nowhere near the secret process. Whatever. The recipes look interesting, and the idea of stretching the dough in peanut oil sounds like it could impart an attractive flavor.

A quirky site called Retro RoadMap offers its views on Victory Pig. Its owner enjoyed the place, and was impressed with its Wimpie, a sloppy joe like sandwich on a bun.
Contrast this to Rutt's Hut, an old school Jersey hot dog legend. You can't even get across the parking lot without encountering pigeons who are so bold that they try to take bites of hot dogs from people who are walking to their cars. These pigeons are so brazen that they routinely shake down rats for lunch money.
