Splinky mentioned this new reality TV show on another thread, but several reviews are interesting.

In true "reality" format, there is drama, dispute, and eventual redemption. In the case of MM, the first episode involved an employee who suffered a deep cut on the band saw. A towel and compress, into the SUV, and to the hospital. Employee returns with a cast later in the episode.

David Burke Michael White needs a premium blend for a new hamburger. This could make or break him, and LaFrieda. Failure, failure, and eventual success. Vindication and high fives all around.

The family comes across as likeable, quirky people.

Contrast this to Rutt's Hut, an old school Jersey hot dog legend. You can't even get across the parking lot without encountering pigeons who are so bold that they try to take bites of hot dogs from people who are walking to their cars. These pigeons are so brazen that they routinely shake down rats for lunch money.

The burger was for Michael White, not David Burke. It was dubbed the "White Label Burger."

All those fat white male chefs look alike, anyway.

Tonight, there was a dessert of coconut, rhubarb, and black olive. Obvious in its execution how innovation and experiment, when introduced for their own sake, are annoying. --irnscrabblechf52, May 9, 2013

“One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. 'Oh, no!', I said, 'Disneyland burned down.' He cried and cried, but I think that deep down he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late.”
