He found Jesus just before he was to start his prison term for sundry Watergate crimes. At the time I thought it was a sham. It turns out he meant it. He worked for various religious causes and for prison reform for the rest of his life. In his own way he redeemed himself.

He said it in a voice that you knew was serious.Besides the grandmother quote, his other immortal line was "Once you have them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow."

i'm pretty sure you can find that original quote from jesus, in the book of matthew, very near the beginning.Besides the grandmother quote, his other immortal line was "Once you have them by the balls, their hearts and minds will follow."

“One thing kids like is to be tricked. For instance, I was going to take my little nephew to Disneyland, but instead I drove him to an old burned-out warehouse. 'Oh, no!', I said, 'Disneyland burned down.' He cried and cried, but I think that deep down he thought it was a pretty good joke. I started to drive over to the real Disneyland, but it was getting pretty late.”
