The largest sheep dairy in the east is celebrating the start of another spring season. Join our family for this traditional rite of spring event.
Our 600 pregnant ewes will be all wooly and ready for shearing May 5th! (Lambs are likely to be born during the festival so keep an eye on the ewes!) Shearing will take place all day so if you arrive at 10am or 1pm, you will see the action. But thatís not all. Artisan craftspeople will be demo-ing their respective specialty craft. From a Broom-squire to a Blacksmith to a wool spinner or weaver. Watch, enjoy & learn !
Music, story teller for the kids and of course lots of cheese made at valley shepherd, Piggies cooking up the BBQ and always fresh traditional Gelato. There will be heritage craftspeople, musicians, story teller and more!
In related news, Valley Shepherd has established a cheese making and aging process at the Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia. Milk will be piped into the facility, and the cheese process will take place at the market.
