I am here to confirm that the little "Tables for Two" rave in the New Yorker is justified. A terrific little place, more than slightly out of the way, but worth a detour.

Some people's "more than slightly out of the way" is other people's "a few blocks from my apartment".

Did you ever go?

I must say, the pleasures offered by Thirstbaravin and Atera are so different they hardly belong in the same forums.

Some people's "more than slightly out of the way" is other people's "a few blocks from my apartment".

I'll stand by my comment. Obviously it's not out of the way for the people who live upstairs, but for anyone traveling by subway or even cab, it's a schlep. It's not very near even the nearest (non-S line) station. Unlike, say, Roberta's.

Only not out of the way for those of us to whom it's a shorter walk than, say, Al Di La.

Haven't been yet. I've walked by it many times -- but never when it was open. Obviously, that will soon change.

I think it started out opening only a few days a week, but yes, it's a proper restaurant now. :ph43r:

Caution, though, it doesn't keep late hours. You'll get served after 10, but it's distinctly winding down.

BTW, "Prospect Height"'s reaching all the way east to Classon Avenue is a fairly new development (although I'm fine with that, as it sets the eastern border flush with Clinton Hill's).

the franklin C stop (in the basement of the S stop) is only four blocks away. I do agree that the location sucks, especially if you're going to be leaving drunk.

Is this what you call "opening PR?"

I'm glad Wilfrid liked the food. Sneak, my man, you really should get to this place.

I think I could have shaved five minutes off the walk if I'd headed straight down Franklin instead of back up Fulton Street and onto Classon. I just checked the map because it felt like more than four blocks. But you're right.

I could eat here once a week if it was in my neighborhood. And the entrees changed. Again, in contrast to other restaurants currently under discussion.

Looking at their website, it seems like the menu actually changes weekly. Not complete turnover, but there always seems to be at least one different main dish (out of a whopping two).

it's my impression that the prices are lower than they were a few months ago.
