I wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition.

Well, you seem to have a broader knowledge of NYC restaurant chairs than most.

I've been to all of these places, and for the most part it's a non-crazy list.

Your failure to get Boomer cultural references is deplorable.

You know those movies that your girlfriend is always nagging you to watch but you never get around to watching...

Not even a movie. Just a TV show. (Meaning, I guess, how COULD you watch it?) (Fuck, I have the entire run on DVD.)

I don't much like the A Voce chairs, but maybe that's aesthetics. Bouley is comfortable, indeed.

Very comfortable banquettes at Boukie's, the new Greek on Second Avenue.

Why live your life when you could curate it?

Enough about gaping holes in my pop culture knowledge and more about what brings us all together from such disparate places: restaurant chairs.

Wow, so you probably missed the reference to the bisexual lumberjack convention at Trois Petites Bouchons

I never said that

You know you are in a comfortable and appropriate restaurant chair when you don't even notice it.

Like the chair I was in at Le Bernardin last week. I had a great lunch over 2 1/2 hours and couldn't begin to tell you what it was like.

Apparently someone at Slate thinks the death knell was sounded for Starbucks in New York City when they removed their comfortable chairs.
