Not rented, since the kids gave us the DVD for Christmas, but I've watched Burn After Reading twice now and just love it. The Coen Brothers at their misanthropic finest.

Mamma Mia. Whoever cast this was on acid.

I thought this was a terrific movie. Brendan Gleeson was so good. A friend of mine strongly recommended it and I was so glad she did.

But the same friend recommended this. Holy Mamma of Mia, I hated this, every scrap of it. Nice work when you can make Pierce Brosnan look like a fool. I nearly threw my shoe through the television. Two shoes. Absolutely painful.

I'd characterize my reaction as fascinated horror. I mean, this is a collection of some seriously fine dramatic actors. But who thought they could sing and dance and camp it up? I love Colin Firth, but I didn't feel my life was incomplete without watching him interpret a pop song (badly). Truly, I think only Julie Walters walked away unscathed.

To give the movie its due, I did like the scene where the men were dancing on the dock in flippers.

That scene alone was almost worth the price of admission for me...

I like the show-throwing idea. Maybe it will catch on globally!

Aside from Kate Bush singing the title song, yeah, tedium.

And also repetitive and redundant?

ETA: This was a lot funnier before the extra post was deleted.
Thursday: This morning, I say to my wife and my girls, the waffles we face are real. They will not go away. Cornmeal waffles, buckwheat waffles, pumpkin waffles, chicken'n'waffles. The waffles we face are serious and manifold.

I have been remembering this man with some real vigor over the past couple of days. He was a miserable stinker, although now that he has gone on to his reward I can't say what I really thought of him. But if I'm any judge of these things, I'll bet he's hotter than Squeat Mungry. DebVanD

Iron Man. crap. I just realized that Robert Downey, Jr. plays the same character in every movie.
