Not your mama's Trader Joe's....

Many years ago, there used to be an all night Hughes Market located at Cahuenga and Franklin. Sightings of rockers were common, particularly in the evenings (Hey, he's in Three Dog Night!). That market is long gone. As a rocker market it was replaced for a time by the Rock N Roll Ralphs on Sunset. That store now seems occupied primarily by Russian ex-pats.

Not to worry. Here's the Rock N Roll Trader Joe's!

The end of the world as we've known it--well, for 63 years! Stan Chambers, a newscaster who has been on air locally for 63 years is actually going to retire. If ever there was a guy I thought would die with his boots on, he's the one. I guess at 87 he's slowing down.

Yoga, yoga, yoga. Yoga has been big in California. Lately though it's gone viral in LA. Every third woman on the street is carrying a rolled up yoga mat. If you put all those mats end to end you'd reach nirvana or teen spirit or something.
