Some of you may know, but my uncle used to own a french restaurant in Atlanta. He closed the place in 1999 or so, but most of the cellar remains in proper storage in Atlanta, with some in Dad's cellar in Maine. My Dad gave me a few bottles on my visit- the other 2 I'm familiar enough with (1994 Nuit St. Georges) and a 1986 Cos D'Estournel- we opened one of these with some Hahn's Farm cheese, which was deeply curranty, smoky and wonderful, but I digress.
This Argentinian one one has me baffled- 1986 San Telmo Malbeck, from Mendoza. It does not say "Bodegas" anywhere on the bottle, which my searches keep trying to insert, as well as dumping the "k" on 'Malbeck".
Any thoughts on this bottle? He has a case of it! Should I just crack it now and find out? Anyone interested?

OPEN IT, OPEN IT! There's another 11 if it isn't ready yet, but I reckon it'll be lovely.
You know, I am really into Hahn's cheeses. I didn't realize it until this year's ACS, but her cheeses stood out and I took note.
