Footnote - the most unique NYC restaurant I ever visited was a place called the Grotto in the theater district. It's been closed for decades, but you did walk into a dark grotto with running water everywhere. And the darkness also helped the food.

Let me present Alux:

It goes on and on for hundreds of yards with some dark parts, waterfalls, etc.

But no Ninjas.

Looks a lot like Mars 2112.

Next out was this super creamy tofu on this very thin tin foil, disposable sheet.  It was over a candle. It was in some sort of fish stock broth.  i actually put some of the crunchy topping from the shrimp on the tofu to add  texture.

That looks an awful lot like Xiefen Doufu, aka hairy crab meat/roe tofu. Great dish, pretty widely available around Shanghai.

The hottest things on planet earth, counting down from 3 to 1:

3) Molten Lava

2) The inside of a toaster strudel that was microwaved for 15 seconds too long

1) The liquid in that giant soup dumpling

WD-50, which is a restaurant I don't particularly enjoy a great deal, immediately comes to my mind.
